You definately want to join VATSIM http://www.vatsim.net/. It works with FSX, FS2004, and X-Plane. If you want a realistic way of flying, that's it. If you don't already know how to read aviation charts, plan and file flight plans, and how to properly communicate, be sure to read any tutorial you can find. Real people play the part of ATC.
