Most REALISTIC and BEST flight simulator on the market?

I got in an argument with a friend over what is the best and most realistic flight simulator on the market. I say its Microsoft FSX he feels its IL-2 Sturmovik. to me IL-2 seems just like a video game combat simulator not a REALISTIC Flight Simulator. Who is wrong? Is there a Flight Simulator better and more realistic then both? Any professional pilots have an answer?Most REALISTIC and BEST flight simulator on the market?

You bring a very good question to light. I have been flying FS for many years and have wondered that same question. I did some research and found what seems to be a thorough discussion of the basic physics of flight comparing the two major players, FSX and X-Plane. Read it and make your own decision - it is not as clear cut as you might wish. Happy flying!
FSX is by far the most realistic you can purchase. IL-2 is more of a video game, then a true learning simulator.
