Any space flight simulator game? Space RPG Game? Space FPS game?

Hello,



I would like to know if there is any Space flight simulator game or a Space RPG game where we control a spaceship and fly in space, land on planets, engage in combats etc.



Typically a good game played in space where we control a spaceship.



Any good ideas? Please don't suggest games like Halo because we don't necessarily control a spaceship in it and we don't fly in space etc etc.

Of course, there are space games, but most of them haven't got a very developed RPG elements. But if you want to both fly the spaceship AND land on a planet to fight on it... well, you'll have to search around for a bit.



Otherwise, there are some good space simulation games out there :

-the X series (the latest being X3), is very immersive, but you have to play something like 20 hours (10 if you're good) to learn the commands. And that's (almost) not exaggerated. But it's got great graphics, and you can buy space stations, develop mining complexes, trade stuff, raid other vessels... ah, and your computer should be 2 years old maximum.



-A bit like X, but muuch simpler, there's freelancer. It's a bit old, but its background are still very beautiful. Here you don't own space stations etc. It's primarily combat and trading.



-or there's escape velocity. Well, it's old, it's in 2D, and hasn't got a huge success, but I like it. And it's got a trial version that can show you a lot of what to expect.



-And if you like Star Trek, I've played the Broken Mirror a few years ago. It's a free 2D flash game, but you've got quite a bunch of planets to visit.



I guess you won't play anything older like Wing commander, the X-wing series, etc.



The three games I listed are quite similar : you own a spaceship, can land on planets and stations (but your activities on them are limited, e.g you can't roam around in the jungle, you just have some key places to go to), can trade, buy new weapons/equipments/ships, engage combats, and also be a pirate, to some extent.



I don't know if that's the kind of games you're looking for, but these are Space simulation games for me.
