I would suggest actually paying for a simulator to really get the full experience. Your best bet for a good simulator would be to just go to Amazon or your local Best Buy or computer game store and see if they have Microsoft Flight simulator 2004 (do not get Flight Simulator X unless you have a top notch gaming computer and you want a more arcade feel to the game).
