sorry. but if you're thinking of ms flight sim X, its not really up to par.Is this computer good for playing flight simulator games?
Its good for playing older simulators (like FreeSpace or FreeSpace 2).Is this computer good for playing flight simulator games?
This computer is like 3-4 years old (if not more). So if you plan on playing 2-3 year old flight sim games then you are fine.
If you plan on playing the newest one, you probably could play it, but it would be on the slow side. The problem is you don't have a good graphics. And even if you did buy a good graphic AGP is dieing off. (its old technology).
You would be able to find a good enough AGP card to play all the Flight Sims you want for now. But any future gaming would start to be limited.
That computer will not play even older flight simulators like FS2002 or CFS3, let lone new ones like FSX.
Youll want at least a 1.6 ghz core duo and a Nvidia 7600 or Ati x1600 to play them. I know from experience, a 3ghz pentium 4 will not be powerful enough.
I usually dont recommend Dell, but you can get a dell with a 1.8ghz core duo and a Nvidia 8300 for under $400, and youll be pressed to get that anywhere else. I would personally pay the extra $90 and move up to the 8600, which can actually max out FSX, which is currently the best flight simulator out there.
