my brother just got the new game too, except hes still just using keyboard controls rather than a joystick or anything,

Flight simulator?I've seen some in Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Babbages, and E B Games. They even have some that come with a free flight-simulator game included in the package, as well, but the one he already has is most likely the best.
They usually range in price from $20-100, depending on the quality and if it includes another game or not.
